He started his musical career with a local group Bango Bidders before his proper exposure and grooming with the King Kenny Tone band in 1962, King Kennytone was playing at Western Hotel at Alakija Mushin at that time. Idowu Animashaun composed the popular hit ‘Walemi Sisi Wale Mi’ for King Kennytone.

He coined the name 􀁂APOLA􀁈 from the piece of very heavy wood which is to tell people that his band plays a heavy sound that is as heavy as an Apola. Idowu Animashaun who has traveled far and wide around the world is a master guitarist. Animashaun has many chartbusters to his credit such as Ijo Apala, Omo Wunmi, Late Thunder Balogu,n etc. He is presently a man of God, but still musically strong.
