Prince David Bull whose real name is David Dawary was born in 1943 in Bonny of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State. He attended St. Michael’s School Aba and later Niger Grammar School Port Harcourt where he became the assistant bandmaster in the school’s brass band and also a chorister at Saint Michael Church Aba. He had little tint with King Sonny Brown in Kano and later went to Zaria for a year course at Charles Jebba’s Music Institution. Prince David Bull played with various bands including the Cannan All-Stars Band as a Lead guitarist, lead the Gboko All-Stars Band in Gboko owned by the late political Juganut J.S. Tarka, etc.

He joined Rex Jim Lawson’s band in 1967 and helped to revitalize the rhythm section with his stormy guitarist background in great tunes such as Jolly Papa, Tamuno, Anate, etc. He formed the Professional Seagull’s Band in 1969 as a State Band. Lawson’s Orchestra, Bull has confidently kept Rex Lawson’s musical tradition alive. Prince David Bull has many albums to his credit including hit tunes like Atalaba Woman, Afro Baby, Our Lord’s Prayer, Soko Soko just to mention a few. He has won many trophies. He came second in Nigeria during Festac 77 and also won a Golden Cup in a highlight competition at Enugu Sports Club in 1986. This great sportsman also won a Trophy in Lawn Tennis at Onitsha People’s Club Headquarters in 1990. Prince David Bull is a member of the People Club of Nigeria, Port Harcourt, Ugo Youth Club, and many others. With his demise, Dynamic Bull left the musical scene in March 2011.
