One of the pop groups that came after the civil war, BLO was formed in 1972 by three pop musketeers. Berkley Jones, Laolu Akins, and Mike Odumosu. The name, BLO an adaptation of the trio’s initials was given the group by Tony Amadi, the band’s business manager with Akins on ‘thunder drumming’, Jones on Funky Guitar, and Odumosu on Smoothy Bas the group released hits upon hits including its Gonna Be Good Day,  We Gonna Have A Good Party, Beware Native Doctor and Chant to Mother Earth‘. Odumosu later opted out of the group and was replaced by Lemmy Jackson. Riding on the crest of success. The group left for Britain in 1974. But after staying for five years in Britain BLO returned home in 1979 to a cold musical reception. The music lovers had lost touch with their kind of pop music and the Homecoming􀁈 show the group held at the National Theatre turned out a disaster. The show was a great disaster the worst show we had ever had on earth, said Jones. The frustration of it led the group to disband. But while Berkley Jones veered off into business both Akins and Jackson remain in music albeit as producers.
